OLANDA – 316 FERMATE DEL BUS DIVENTANO GIARDINI PER API – Bus Stops for Bees

L’Olanda fa un altro passo avanti a favore delle Api. Secondo le statistiche, nei Paesi Bassi vivono circa quattrocento specie di api. Sfortunatamente, la metà di essi sono già in pericolo di estinzione. Holland is making another step forward in favor of bees. According to statistics, almost four hundred bee species live in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, more than half of them are already endangered.
Il governo Olandese ha riconosciuto il problema e trovato una soluzione ingegnosa: trasformare le fermate degli autobus in micro paradisi a misura di api, a sostegno delle preziose popolazioni impollinatrici. The Netherlands’ officials recognized the growing problem and found an ingenious solution: to transform bus stops into bee-friendly havens to support pollinating populations.
Per questo motivo, la città di Utrecht ha allestito 316 fermate di autobus con incredibili tetti coperti di fiori, illuminazione a LED e panche di bambù. Non solo i tetti verdi sostengono la biodiversità della città creando un nuovo rifugio per diversi tipi di api, ma immagazzinano anche l’acqua piovana e catturano le polveri sottili. Utrecht has fitted its 316 bus stops with succulent-covered roofs, LED lighting, and bamboo benches. Not only do the green roofs support the city’s biodiversity by creating a new haven for different types of bees, but they also store rainwater and capture fine dust.
